32 new Child Sponsors joined this month’s Donor Cafe

September 2022 – World Vision Philippines conducted this year’s Donor Café. For the first time, the event was held in a hybrid setup. Around 32 new sponsors joined virtually while six came to the WV National Office to participate.

A message of thanks was shared by Paul Assie, a Former Sponsored Child (FSC). He shared that because of the help and support he received from World Vision, he was inspired, along with other FSCs to put together a youth-serving organization that aims to help more children in their community.

“Truly, it takes a village to raise and child, at salamat sa pagiging parte ng village na nagpalaki sa amin, sa akin (and thank you for being a part of the village that raised us, that raised me),” Paul tells the sponsors.

Also part of the program was a motivational testimonial from Ms. Lindsey Tan, a WV sponsor for 10 years.

“What I love about being a sponsor in this program is that it’s not just impacting one child, it’s not just giving help to Christopher Jr in Leyte, it’s actually impacting his whole community,” says Ms. Lindsey.

She adds, “…being able to know that even if I am not in the same province as him, goodness is being sown, and I’m a small part of that…just being a part of that bigger picture is something I’m very grateful to be a part of as a sponsor.”

Highlighting the program was the breakout sessions facilitated by Donor Care Specialists to personally hear from the sponsors as well. Both online and offline attendees were divided into smaller groups for more in-depth sharing and feedback.

There was an intermission number and some fun games too.

Donor Café is an annual gathering for new sponsors to have the opportunity to meet each other, know more about not just child sponsorship but the organization as a whole. As it was meant to feel like a café meet-up, coffee and snacks were also served.

Delicious and healthy coffee packs were sponsored by Tiffany Circle, a young and promising health drink brand focused on transforming unhealthy guilty drink pleasures into low-calorie, gluten-free, keto-friendly beverages with no added sugar.
