Students in Cebu raised nearly 300k for Taal survivors

Students from the Singapore School Cebu (SSC), an international school based in Mandaue City, raised a total of P272,290 during its 3-day Casual Days for Taal fundraiser event.

The raised money is donated to World Vision for the families affected by the Taal Volcano eruption last January.

For 3 days, the students can wear casual clothes at school and in return, they give financial support to the cause. The fundraiser was also led by some of the students.

“It’s heartwarming to know that there are kids like them who went out of their way to help the victims of the Taal Volcano. They did not only think of themselves but thought of other people in need,” shares World Vision Donor Care Specialist, Lucille Latonio. “It was also a fun and creative way to raise funds!”

World Vision’s Taal Volcano Eruption Emergency Response has already donated relief efforts to thousands of affected families. More help is needed as the families find ways to earn and establish a more stable shelter.
