Citi partners with World Vision for Citi Global Community Day 2022

Citi celebrates Global Community Day 2022 by running for the benefit of World Vision’s partner schools in the Philippines.

From June 1 to 30, 2022, Citi employees, alumni, and their families and friends are invited to join World Vision’s Virtual Run for Children as part of the company’s corporate citizenship activities. Global Community Day is an event aimed to encourage employees to volunteer and get involved in charities and organizations in their communities. It is observed by Citi employees around the world.

For their virtual run, Citi employees in the Philippines will attempt to finish 6 kilometers or more. Medals and certificates will be awarded to the runners who will reach 6K first, cover the most distance, and invite the biggest team.

Proceeds of the run will be used to build handwashing facilities, and distribute tablets to support students’ education. These donations will benefit World Vision’s WaSH and Abutin Na10 education initiatives.

Citi employees have also volunteered to hold storytelling and arts and crafts activities to 125 students in BASECO, Manila for four Saturdays, starting on June 11.

“We are very grateful to Citi for choosing us again to be one of the beneficiaries of their Global Community Day 2022. Citi is our first corporate partner who will use our first ever Virtual Run for Children microsite, and we are hoping to invite more corporate, school, and church partners to run for children with World Vision,” says Freda Agustin, World Vision Corporate Volunteer Engagement Specialist.

The World Vision Run for Children is fun and exciting opportunity for partner companies, schools, and churches to engage in a meaningful activity and be physically active in the safety and convenience of your own homes, neighborhoods, public parks, gyms, and other places while at the same time helping the most vulnerable children in the Philippines have access to clean water and quality education.
