World Vision provides P900k worth of medical assistance to a child

World Vision Field Operations Managers Roberto Dazo (Luzon) and Bonifacio Calapan (Visayas) recently visited Nethan, 7, at a hospital in Negros Occidental. Nethan, who has a growing lump on his head, underwent embolization—a procedure that blocks blood flow in blood vessels that are bleeding or are causing problems.

“If this wasn’t treated early, it [would have led to more complications],” said Dr. Cesar de Guzman Jr., the physician who performed the procedure. “We’ve been going from one hospital to another, but we always go home with heavy hearts. We don’t have the money for the treatment, that’s why I am really grateful to World Vision for reaching out and helping us,” said Nethan’s mother, Jenelyn.’

Nethan’s medical procedure, which costs around Php900,000, is provided by the Medical Support Project.
