World Vision, a leading global child-centered organization dedicated to fostering the holistic growth of children and building resilient communities, proudly announces the remarkable success of its ProFuturo digital education program in collaboration with Telefónica Foundation and la Caixa¨ Foundation.

As of Quarter 4 of 2023, World Vision proudly announces the successful achievement of its goals for ProFuturo in the country and surpassing expectations. The program has made a profound impact on the next generation by reaching 27,152 students in over 100 public schools across the Philippines. The focus of digital education and training extended to children in both rural and urban areas, including Palawan, Pangasinan, Batangas, Malabon, Manila, Cavite, Antique, and Leyte.

“ProFuturo’s success is a testament to the power of collaboration and innovation in addressing educational disparities. We are immensely grateful for the unwavering support of our partners, Telefónica Foundation and la Caixa Foundation, in realizing this transformative initiative,” says Rommel V. Fuerte, World Vision Executive Director.

Meanwhile, teachers, recognized as pivotal agents of change in the education landscape, underwent specialized training to maximize the utilization of the ProFuturo platform. A total of 479 educators were trained through the program, equipping them with essential skills in classroom management, effective use of the ProFuturo platform, and proficiency in tools such as PowerPoint, Canva, and Microsoft Word. Additionally, 570 teachers facilitated the seamless integration of the platform into their classrooms, ensuring its widespread and impactful implementation.

For decades, World Vision has been at the forefront of initiating transformative projects and programs aimed at nurturing the holistic development of children, while simultaneously empowering communities to create safe, secure, and healthy environments for all families. Central to the success of these initiatives is the organization’s commitment to forging strategic partnerships with both local and international entities to bring its vision to life.

In 2018, World Vision joined forces with Telefónica Foundation and la Caixa Foundation to launch ProFuturo, a groundbreaking digital education program. The primary objective of ProFuturo is to bridge the digital gap among Filipino learners in underserved communities in the Philippines. Leveraging cutting-edge technology, the program seeks to promote equal opportunities by providing high-quality education to students, empowering teachers, and enabling school principals to meet the challenges of the 21st century.

The ProFuturo program continues to stand as a beacon of hope, empowering children and educators alike with the tools and knowledge needed to thrive in an increasingly digital world, and World Vision remains a steadfast leader, committed to its mission of creating a future where every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
