Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, World Vision turn over new classroom for Samar students

SAMAR  — Mitsubishi Motors Corporation in partnership with World Vision recently turned over a new classroom to a school in Samar under the STEP to the Future Project.

The project, a fundraising initiative among Mitsubishi Motors Corporation employees, aims to provide students with a comfortable learning environment to motivate them to study and improve their academic performances.

Takehisa Usami, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation Executive Vice President, in a meeting with the students and teachers, said that he hopes the classrooms will help students to learn in a conducive environment and be able to reach their dreams someday.

World Vision’s Officer-in-Charge for Operations, Bonifacio Calapan, shared the same vision with Usami. “We hope to encourage students to pursue their dreams in the years to come.”

“My heartfelt gratitude to Mitsubishi Motors Corporation and World Vision for improving education in our community. This building represents the collaboration and shared vision of creating an environment where knowledge can flourish. It is a testament to the transformative power of collective efforts in the belief that education is the cornerstone for positive change,” said Zaldy Tabugoca, Department of Education District in Charge.

Tabugoca along with the school’s principal, Violeta Duran, received the symbolic key of responsibility and acceptance.

The newly built classroom will be used by the current and future Grade 10 students. Aside from the new classroom, school supplies were also provided to around 300 students. The students through their representatives expressed their gratitude to Mitsubishi and World Vision.

“Mitsubishi Motors Corporation and World Vision gave us not only a physical space to learn but also instilled within us hope,” said grade 10 student, Scirom. “They have given us more than just a classroom. They have given us the gifts of education and opportunity.”

President of the school’s student government, Althea, also shared: “Your investment in our education is a gift beyond measure. Your generosity has touched our hearts and we are forever grateful.”
