Rommel V. Fuerte is the Executive Director of World Vision in the Philippines, the largest Christian child-focused non-government organization in the country. His experiences in relief, development, advocacy, and governance span over 20 years.

He served as World Vision’s Strategy Specialist for Asia Pacific based in Bangkok, Thailand covering 16 country offices and special assignments for emergency responses in Indonesia and Iraq.

In 2018, he was recognized as the country’s most outstanding social worker in the humanitarian sector by the Philippine Association of Social Workers, Inc., where he is a lifetime member. He is also an Institutional Awardee of the University of Mindanao.

In July 2020, Mr. Fuerte was appointed by the Philippine President as member of the Board representing the private sector in the Council for the Welfare of Children under the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

Mr. Fuerte holds the following key positions among others: Board Chair of the Philippine Children’s Ministries Network; Corporate Secretary of the Community Economic Venture, Inc. (a micro finance NGO), Convener of the Philippine Coalition of Advocates for Nutrition Security, Inc.; Lead of Scaling Up Nutrition Civil Society Alliance Philippines; Steering Committee Member of Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies global alliance; Co-Chair of the Sectoral Committee on Social Development of the Regional Development Council of the National Capital Region. He is a former vice chair and member of the Multi Sectoral Governance Council of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, assisting the agency in realizing its vision, commitments and strategic directions.

Mr. Fuerte is a Registered Social Worker. He finished his Bachelor of Science in Social Work from the University of Mindanao and pursued his Master of Business Administration in the Eastern University’s School of International Leadership Development, Pennsylvania, USA.
