World Vision plants seeds of sustainability with Eco-School project in Negros Occidental

“The turn over of this Eco-School project is more than the completion of the structure, it is the embodiment of our collective vision for a learning environment that inspires, empowers, and protects,” said World Vision Operations Director, Ajab Aram Macapagat, on Monday, October 20.
The Eco-School project, funded by World Vision Korea, officially started in September 2024. It is designed to promote environmental awareness through the development of sustainable resources.
The goal of the eco-school project is to provide a safe, climate-smart, and climate-resilient learning environment for the children. The use of recycled materials and indigenous materials are also visibly incorporated to promote environmental stewardship and peace building.
“Thank you very much World Vision for believing in the power of education. You have shown us that transformation happens when people come together with a shared vision of love, faith, and service. The seeds of kindness you have planted here will surely bear fruits in the lives of our learners and their families for the years to come,” said School Principal, Rante Sait.
Elementary students’ representative, Zach, also expressed his gratitude to World Vision: “We appreciate your commitment in improving our education and investing for our future. Thank you, World Vision!” he said.
In 2023, World Vision in partnership with Citi Foundation, also launched Project AID (Agricultural Innovation Development) in Negros Occidental, which aims to empower vulnerable families to generate and diversify income and provide entrepreneurial opportunities and environmental recovery through its agripreneur program and smart farming technology components.
