Typhoon Ompong: WV team visits one of the evacuation buildings in Isabela
WV communicator Lanelyn Carillo talks about the current weather in Isabela which is now under typhoon signal #3 and WV’s preparations:
**World Vision team is closely coordinating with Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council Officers for ongoing preparations in Isabela. Typhoon Mangkhut is expected to make landfall in Cagayan-Isabela areas on Saturday morning, September 15.

From where we are in Santiago City, the rain has started to subside although the wind is still blowing hard. If security and road conditions permit, we will be off the road in a while to check the situation of children and their families who bore the brunt of the typhoon most.

We are still without electricity. The winds are scary. I do not even want to try going outside because it’s pounding our house. Even with our doors and windows closed, it feels like there is someone whistling just beside me. It’s still dark outside and I am not sure what to see in the morning. Hopefully this will pass soon.
