Youth calls out voters to elect compassionate, trustworthy leaders
Selected youth leaders from communities in provinces Samar and Leyte make a stand for the upcoming election this May 13.
Around 50 youth participated in a focus group discussion (FGD) last April 26 in Tacloban City and identified the characteristics of future leaders they want to be elected. They are in unison in answering that they want leaders who are compassionate, trustworthy, reliable and who will prioritize the welfare of children.
They also identified several social issues that they hope the future leaders will address. These issues include child labor, early pregnancy, domestic violence and bullying, and mental health support for children and teenagers.
The #VoteForChildren campaign is organized by World Vision to give youth leaders a voice and to make an impact for the welfare of their fellow youth and children.
