Ronald and Gerald receive new school bags!

Brothers Gerald and Ronald live with their father, along with their two older siblings, in a modest town in the province of Antique.  Their family was complete until their mother met an accident last 2013 that took her life. They were devastated by the loss. Becoming a solo parent in a sudden was a challenging transition for the father, but he made sure that his children are well provided on education, food, and shelter.

Gerald, 10 years old, is a reserved boy. Now on his coming-of-age phase, it was a struggle for him to miss a mother figure in his life. Despite that, he remains focused at school and strives to become a responsible kuya to Ronald.

Ronald, 8 years old, is a cheerful boy who spends most of his time playing with other kids in the neighborhood. He loves going to school. Each day, he wakes up earlier than his siblings to prepare for school.

To provide for the family’s needs, the father accepts various jobs such as working in a construction firm and farming. It became his commitment to provide a comfortable life for his children.

During the opening of the new school year, the two brothers received a gift from World Vision – a new school bag with school supplies! It was a special day for Gerald and Ronald. Thank you to generous donors who donated during the Back-to-school campaign of World Vision.

Receiving school kits from World Vision inspired Ronald and Gerald to continue giving their best to reach their dreams. They hope that this year, more children like them would be given the chance to a brighter future.
