Northern Trust Partners with World Vision Philippines to Support Children and the Environment
Northern Trust recently partnered with World Vision Philippines to carry out a series of community outreach and environmental activities that benefited children and families in Metro Manila and nearby areas.
The collaboration featured four initiatives:
1. a coastal clean-up that collected 45 sacks of trash in Baseco, Manila (October 3),
2. a child sponsorship talk in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) featuring Captain Armand Balilo of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) also a former World Vision sponsored child (October 15),
3. a tree planting activity with 300 kamagong seedlings in La Mesa Watershed, Quezon City (October 21),
4. and a financial literacy session for 50 World Vision-assisted children from Baseco, Manila (October 23).
During the Child Sponsorship Talk, Retired Rear Admiral (RADM) Armand Balilo, a former World Vision sponsored child, shared his personal testimony about how the organization’s child sponsorship program helped transform his life and guided him toward success. He highlighted the lasting impact of child sponsorship.
This marks their first engagement with World Vision Philippines. It reflected a shared commitment to environmental care and community development.
“We are very grateful to Northern Trust employees for spending their time, energy, and effort to visit our communities,” said Freda Agustin, World Vision Corporate Volunteer Engagement Specialist.
“Their dedication to caring for the environment and supporting our advocacy made a lasting impact on the community and the children we serve. We are also thankful for their efforts in sharing financial literacy knowledge with our WV-assisted children in Baseco, and for supporting our child sponsorship program.”
Through this partnership, World Vision Philippines continues to connect corporate volunteers with meaningful opportunities to help build brighter futures for Filipino children.
