Youths use creative skills to promote children’s rights

Despite being at home for several months now due to COVID-19 pandemic, youths in a town in Sorsogon showed off their talents on drawing, poetry and photography to remind everyone not to forget about children’s rights especially in the time of pandemic.

Anchored on the theme, “Sama-samang Itaguyod ang Karapatan ng Bawat Bata sa Panahon ng Pandemya”, the youths sent their message across through contests on poster making, spoken poetry, daily quizzes and photography.

“We wanted them to have a meaningful participation despite being at home and to showcase their talents as well,” Richelda Manilag, World Vision Program Officer in Sorsogon, says.

Winners get school supplies like bag, a clip fan with LED light, and tumbler.

Winners for the daily quizzes get Php50 worth of load allowance each. “They love the quizzes more because of the load allowance,” Manilag jests. Winners of the contests are the following: Jocel C. for poster making, Xander D. for both photography and spoken poetry, and 10 winners were announced daily for the quizzes.
