World Vision, JOA provide emergency kits to local community in Camarines Sur

As the typhoon season sets in, World Vision and Jersey Overseas Aid provide early warning devices and emergency kits to a flood-prone village and school in Camarines Sur. The local government and school officials will use these to monitor and prepare communities and students in times of emergencies and typhoons. Camarines Sur is one of the hardest hit provinces when Typhoon Nina (Nock-ten) devastated the Bicol Region in December 2016.

The Philippines experiences typhoons between the months of June to December. The early warning devices and emergency kits include rain boots, raincoats, hard hats, radio, rechargeable lamps, alarm bells, flashlights and first aid kits, among others. JOA is an independent international aid agency funded by the States of Jersey. Their goal is to provide humanitarian aid to those affected by disasters around the world.World Vision/June 18, 2017
