Volleyball star Gretchen Ho, named World Vision Ambassador for Health and Nutrition

Quezon City – Child-focused international organization World Vision welcomed Gretchen Ho as their newest Ambassador for Health and Nutrition in a contract signing ceremony last May 22.

Known for her active lifestyle as a star athlete, Gretchen is also an advocate for healthy living and proper nutrition. “It’s easy to take food and water security, health, and nutrition for granted, especially since most of us have easy access to these resources” said Gretchen. “Nutritious food and clean water should be readily available for everyone, but the sad truth is that health and nutrition remain a privilege that marginalized communities cannot afford.”

During the contract signing ceremony, Gretchen expressed her gratitude in being chosen as the newest World Vision Ambassador. “I’m honored that I was given this opportunity to aid in World Vision’s advocacy programs and activities. Malnutrition and diseases are very real threats to children and families in the country, which is why I’m giving my full support to World Vision by raising awareness on these issues and helping the cause,” she said.

World Vision Resource Development Director Jun Godornes was happy to welcome Gretchen to the World Vision family. “Gretchen embraces our values with an open mind and heart. She really cares for kids and believes in people working together to give children a better future. She also embodies health and nutrition, and is someone who can empower and inspire people to action,” he shared.

Gretchen now joins the ranks of World Vision Ambassadors, which include Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Bianca Umali, Ogie Alcasid, Sam Concepcion, Tippy Dos Santos, Tin Tin Bersola-Babao, CJ Hirro, Joyce Pring and Marc Nelson, among others.
