Out-of-school youths in Mandaue City attend employability training

CEBU ─ World Vision in partnership with Citi Foundation recently held a three-day employability training for OSYs or out-of-school and vulnerable youths in Mandaue City.

The training was part of Project HOPE’s (Helping OSYs Pave towards Employment and Entrepreneurship) initiative to provide practical support for OSYs to develop their job searching skills and be able to build the competencies they need to find employment.

Participants learned basic computer literacy, letter-writing, and even sending an application through email. The training also included interpersonal and leadership activities, goal-setting and self-assessment so they can better plan the direction they want to take.  After which, hands-on application for oral communication like impromptu speaking and mock interviews were carried out.

Project HOPE aims to provide sustainable economic opportunities to empower youths to become contributing members of their community. The project also provides agricultural and livelihood assistance for entrepreneurial development.
