National Children’s Solution Summit 2018 Highlights

“We, the children and young people who participated in the National Children’s Solutions Summit, believe that the collective ideas and child-led solutions in this manifesto will strengthen the fight against Online Sexual Exploitation of Children (OSEC) in the Philippines. The implementation of the said recommendations and suggestions would be a huge step in achieving an OSEC-free country.”

This was the call to action presented by the participants in front of industry leaders and agency authorities during the 2-day National Children’s Solutions Summit in Cebu City.

The manifesto mentioned in the statement is a detailed document presenting the many ways the participants propose on how to end Online Sexual Exploitation of Children — tapping different sectors in the community like LGU and Government Agencies, the media, the academe, the private sector and the family as well.

Representatives from the Department of Education, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Philippine National Police and Ayala Foundation also shared their commitment on how their offices can help the cause. The commitment was sealed by signing the manifesto.

The manifesto was the result of a two-day workshop of intense discussion and brainstorming involving around 100 child and youth leaders all over the Philippines.

The event was organized by the Joining Forces to End Violence Against Children, an alliance of leading child-focused agencies World Vision Philippines,Plan International,  Terre des hommes, Save the Children Philippines, ChildFund Philippines, and SOS Children’s Villages Philippines.
