Making Life Sweeter: Perfetti Van Melle Philippines Partners with World Vision to Sponsor 14 Children

Behind every candy shared is a chance to spread joy—and now, hope too.

Perfetti Van Melle (PVM) Philippines, the company behind well-loved brands such as Mentos and Chupa Chupshas partnered with World Vision Philippines to sponsor 14 children through its Child Sponsorship Program., This partnership began with a simple but powerful moment.

After attending the World Vision Partnership Forum, a PVM colleague was deeply moved by the impact of the Child Sponsorship Program and the effort behind every story shared. Wanting others to feel the same sense of purpose, she brought the experience back to PVM— planting the seed for what would eventually become a company-wide initiative. The collaboration took shape following a Lunch and Learn session held at the PVM office on April 13, where employees were introduced to World Vision’s work and given the opportunity to become child sponsors. The session aimed to deepen awareness of how individual and collective actions can help improve the lives of children and their communities.

World Vision Philippines’ Direct Marketing Officer, Vikki Masaquel, led the discussion sharing how the Child Sponsorship Program works and how consistent support can help create lasting change in a child’s life.

Adding a deeply personal dimension to the session was Francisco Don III, a Cavite native and former World Vision sponsored child.

Now a graduate of Education and a member of the World Vision team, Francisco shared how being sponsored helped shape his journey and opened opportunities that might not have been possible otherwise. Inspired by his own experience, he also shared that he has since become a child sponsor himself.

Moved by the stories and the program’s impact, seven PVM employees signed up as child sponsors by the end of the session. In support of their commitment, PVM management matched the number of sponsored children, bringing the total to 14 children sponsored through the partnership.

World Vision Philippines expressed gratitude to PVM for helping create brighter opportunities for children and communities. Partnerships like these help provide sustained support in areas such as education, health, and child well-being—empowering children to look toward the future with hope.

Companies and individuals interested in becoming child sponsors may contact World Vision Philippines to learn more about how they can help create lasting change.
