A Mother’s Love: Raising a New Generation with World Vision

It takes a village to raise a child, but the one who provides clear direction and yields compassionate power to mobilize the community is usually a mother. To nurture and raise the next generation, mothers ensure that children grow up happy and healthy.

Motherhood is not without challenges, especially for families living in vulnerable and poor conditions who hardly make ends meet. World Vision recognizes the role of mothers as a partner and a catalyst in her community.

Through its many programs, World Vision aims to help all families, especially mothers, by empowering them with diverse tools, resources, and even income opportunities.

One such valuable endeavor is World Vision’s grant project called the Sustaining Women’s Economic Empowerment Thrust (SWEET). Here, officers – primarily women and mothers – underwent training, capacity building, and technical support so that they could lead their own cooperatives and support community livelihood.

Surely kindness begets more blessings. Aside from mothers, virtually anyone can make a difference in a child’s life through World Vision’s child sponsorship.

“What’s amazing is that sponsoring one child inevitably impacts the life of his or her family. And with the collective effort of sponsors and donors, more mothers and communities can be empowered to uphold the well-being of children especially the most vulnerable,” said Rommel V. Fuerte, World Vision National Director.

This Mother’s Day, don’t forget to thank our mothers and honor strong, passionate women in our lives who have nurtured us and helped us thrive and soar. Together, we can raise a new generation.

Happy Mother’s Day from your World Vision Family!
