A shared services subsidiary for leading global law firm White & Case LLP, DSM Manila has been operating in the Philippines since 2007. As they celebrate their 10th anniversary this year, they remain committed to their Social Responsibility goals of supporting the education of children in remote locations in the Philippines, contributing to charities and causes that are relevant to their people, and providing assistance to those affected by emergencies and calamities through its partnership with World Vision.

In a MOA signing and recognition ceremony last March 28, DSM Manila officially sponsored 100 World Vision children, half of which were sponsored by the company while half were sponsored by individual DSM employees.

Carlo Mata, DSM Manila Director for Philippine Orientation shared, “Winston Churchill once said ‘We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give’. One life is precious enough, what more for 100 lives that we sponsored? We cannot put enough value in one’s life, but what we give today, will live on to make an impact in the lives of those who receive them.”

World Vision helps transform a community through child sponsorship

With 60 years of success in the Philippines, World Vision child sponsorship is a long-term solution to poverty that cripples families and steals hope from children. A monthly pledge of P750 is pooled with those of other child sponsors in the Philippines. Pooling together resources/ donations enables World Vision to maximize the productivity of every peso.

Working together with local staff and community leaders, World Vision helps create healthy environment and hopeful futures for children and their families with essentials like education, clean water, nutritious food, healthcare, child protection, and economic opportunities,

Today, World Vision has 38 assisted communities and more than 100,000 sponsored children across the Philippines.

These lasting changes give sponsored children and other children in the Philippines the chance to grow into adults who can provide for themselves and their own children and contribute to their community.

With more generous partners like DSM Manila, World Vision will be able to reach its goal of reaching 3 Million children by 2020.World Vision/April 6, 2017
