Help the Children Affected by the BASECO Fire
A massive fire incident broke out in BASECO Compound, Manila in the evening (11pm Philippine time) of February 4, 2020. The fire, which was elevated to Task Force Bravo, meaning more firefighting equipment required, was responded to by fire brigades and eventually contained after more than 3 hours.
Initial reports indicate that over 300 houses were engulfed by the fire’s fury and about 1,033 families or 3,856 individuals are rendered homeless.
World Vision has an area programme in BASECO where at least 136 World Vision registered families are likely affected.
We invite you to support our brothers and sisters by supporting their expressed needs.
With your help, World Vision will be providing the affected families with hygiene kits and non-food items.
For every 2,000, 1 family will be able to receive a Hygiene Kit [bath and laundry soaps, toothbrushes and toothpastes, sanitary packs, nail cutter, undergarments and malong or tube skirt] and Non-Food Items such as mosquito net, mats and blanket.
We also ask you to continue to pray for the safety and protection of the affected families and children, as well as all the people currently on the ground, working tirelessly to assist these families and children affected by the fire.
