World Vision joins CWC, DSWD and NYC in 2019 National Children’s Month celebration
In accordance to Republic Act No. 10661 or the “National Children’s Month Act,” the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC), the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and the National Youth Commission (NYC) urge government agencies, local government units, non-government organizations, and the private sector to join the annual National Children’s Month (NCM) celebration commemorated every November.

With the theme “Karapatang Pambata: Patuloy na Pahalagahan at Gampanan Tungo sa Magandang Kinabukasan,” the 2019 National Children’s Month will be a celebration of the 30th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UN CRC) and 27th NCM, which commemorates the Philippines’ adoption of the UN CRC on November 20, 1989.

As a child-focused organization, World Vision joins CWC, DSWD, NYC and other like-minded groups in ensuring and promoting the strict observance of programs and measures that will safeguard the realization of the rights of every Filipino child. This includes giving children full access to their most basic needs, protecting them from any form of harm and violence, and providing avenues that would enrich their overall growth and development.

Led by CWC, DSWD and NYC, the 2019 National Children’s Month celebration will kick off on the 5th of November. Each week thereafter will focus on a specific children’s right:

WEEK 1: Survival Rights
