World Vision and TELUS International Philippines commenced the Brigada Pagbasa or remedial reading classes program in Malabon recently. The face-to-face reading session will be conducted with 30 elementary school children that will run for 16 Saturdays from March to June this year. Before this, TELUS previously conducted 16 Brigada Pagbasa sessions with school children in Manila, but was held via Zoom.

“We will be with you throughout your remedial sessions. We’re very excited to see your progress in these classes,” TELUS International Philippines Corporate Social Responsibility Senior Manager Phoebe Carrera said. “We hope that from the first to the last sessions, you will carry the same energy and passion in learning.”

Brigada Pagbasa is the Department of Education’s after school reading program that aims to cultivate the culture of reading among young Filipinos. World Vision serves as the co-convenor of the said program.
