Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, as per request and shall be coordinated with the Econ.Dev’t. Team. Same guidelines and processes apply with Child Sponsorship visitation. Although the Econ.Dev’t team will play a crucial part in the coordination.

Same as Child Sponsorship options: Credit Card, Post-dated checks and through on-line payments.

Unlike Child Sponsorship that has a link, the donor can just simply continue his/ her pledge whenever she/ he can. But let’s still urge our donors to continue their pledges since the sustainability of a particular enterprise/ livelihood effort is also need of continuous support.

Depends on the donor’s commitment and the enterprise/ livelihood it has chosen to support. Even if particular group beneficiary has become more sustainable in the process, donations are still pooled together with others to help more groups start-up their own livelihood.

For the ‘Give a micro-finance loan’ option, YES they will somehow be linked to an entrepreneur of their choice, but unlike CS, it’s not a one-is-to-one basis. An entrepreneur can have more than one donor. An regular quarterly report shall be posted in the entrepreneur’s data within the website so donors can access and be updated by his/ her progress.

While the donation you give to a sponsored child is holistic and does provide livelihood opportunities to your sponsored child’s family as well, SEED is a more deliberate and purposive way of really empowering and developing particular individuals and community groups who have decided to start their own livelihood.
CS is like the introduction and a stepping stone for WV to convince our sponsored families to grab on the opportunity of changing their lives through a series of training towards a sustainable livelihood should they express interest.

Through SEED WV offers support, tools and training to empower families and communities to work their way out of poverty, from dependence on aid to financial self-sustainability.

By giving a family what they need to uplift themselves from poverty through livelihood opportunities. Thus providing them daily sustenance for their children, gives them dignity because they are equipped and empowered and hope as they will now have a vision to plan for their future.

The SEED online platform is also a venue for donors to be updated on the particular projects and entrepreneurs that they are supporting. It shall be updated on an annual basis except for those beneficiaries with micro-finance loans which shall be updated on a quarterly basis c/o CEV.
