Throwing outreach programs for children is always a great experience, but leaving a long-lasting mark in that community is better and more fulfilling not only for you but for the children who will benefit as well. Thus, aside from organizing a feeding program or donating used toys and clothes, you can also paint classrooms, plant trees or repair school facilities for children. Sure, it can be taxing but your energy and efforts will surely benefit your chosen community for months and years to come.

Planning to hit the malls during your break? Don’t forget to get stuff for your personal emergency bags at home. We don’t know when the next disaster will strike so it is always best to be prepared. Here is a list of things that you should put in an emergency bag.

Want to support a cause but not sure where to start? Search for fundraising events that align with your advocacy. Some require you to lend your own skills, while others give you the chance to sit back and be entertained while supporting your chosen cause at the same time. In fact, this weekend, a De’s Artroom art exhibit in Cebu and Ogie Alcasid’s Nakakalokal concert in Manila will both be held to support World Vision programs for children. Supporting an advocacy does not necessarily mean donating money or taking to the streets. The mere act of spreading awareness about a cause you believe in already goes a long way. So be proud of your convictions and share things that you believe will make the world a better place.
