Finding a sense of fulfillment

"My journey as a World Vision sponsor started way back in 2006 when my sister handed me the sponsor enrollment form and told me to do something meaningful in my life... I took it as a challenge not knowing that being a WV sponsor will give me the fulfillment that I had been looking for."

“My journey as a World Vision sponsor started way back in 2006 when my sister handed me the sponsor enrollment form and told me to do something meaningful in my life.” It’s like telling to my face that my existence in this world is meaningless as far as she is concerned. Anyway, I took it as a challenge not knowing that being a WV sponsor will give me the fulfillment that I have been looking for. So, I started with sponsoring one child, followed by another in 2010 and the latest one in 2011.

The most fulfilling part of being a WV sponsor is that I am an instrument in making a difference in a child's life by opening the door of opportunity for a better future through education. Not only that. I also came to know that my meager contribution also helped build communities in far flung areas of the country and provide livelihood to many families. Isn’t that meaningful?

However, doing something meaningful requires commitment— commitment to stay in the sponsorship program for WV to continue to reach out to many poor Filipino families in our country. With that being said, I appeal to you, sponsors like myself, to stay committed in sponsoring these children and together with WV we can all be a part of a meaningful and fulfilling endeavor.”
