What is the 12-Hour Famine?
The 12-hour Famine is a movement of youth who are passionate about fighting hunger – they call themselves “hunger-fighters”.
World Vision is taking the lead on a youth movement against hunger called the “12-hour Famine”
. The Famine Program is World Vision’s global youth campaign against hunger for more than 20 years in countries like US, Canada, Australia, Taiwan and Korea among others. Other countries have their versions of the 24-hour, 30-hour and even 40-hour Famine events. In the Philippines, it is our 3rd year to engage the youth through the 12-hour Famine campaign.
With our advocacy and commitment to help poor families uplift themselves from poverty, at the same time promote awareness and social responsibility among the youth, World Vision invites the Filipino youth to join us in our common battle against hunger and through World Vision’s 12-hour Famine campaign annual event this coming September.
When is the 12-Hour Famine 2012?
annual 12-hour Famine event will be held on September 29, 2012 in partnership with The Skydome in SM North Edsa which is also going to be the venue of this event.
How do I register?
Sign-up, pay the registration of P350.00 and claim your Famine kits in any onsite booths through World Vision’s mall booths or event booths that will be announced regularly through the website and social media. You can also sign-up through the World Vision office at 389 Quezon Avenue cor West 6th
Street, Quezon City. You may also opt to pay online thru credit card and claim your Famine kit on the event itself or in our onsite booths.
When you register and pay P350.00 you’ll be receiving a 12-hour Famine kit which includes the following:
· 12-hour Famine 2012 limited edition t-shirt
· CD 12-hour Famine Manual/ Fundraising tools
· 12-hour Famine band
· Event pass and ID for the Famine event on Sept. 29, 2012
· Claimstubs: T-shirt, participant’s lootbag, breaking of fast meals, raffle stub
· 12-hour Famine coinbank

What happens during the 12-Hour Famine?
More challenges, more learnings, more surprises and freebies and more entertainment await those hunger-fighters who are willing to starve and help raise funds for starving children and families. For straight 12-hours of food abstinence, an overflowing, fully-loaded program awaits our hunger-fighters this year.
During the event, more celebrities, WV supporters and other surprise guests will be gracing the event to encourage, educate, inspire and entertain our hunger-fighters as they do the 12-hour Famine fast. It’ll be a fun-filled and inspiring-filled and heart-filled Saturday for the Filipino youth.
